 WE HAVE WAITING AREAS ON THE DECK, PATIO AND COVERED FRONT PORCH.  OUR MAIN ENTRY IS FROM W. PATTERSON ST.   AMPLE ON-STREET PARKING IS AVAILABLE, AND THERE IS A HANDICAPPED SPACE AND RAMP ONSITE. 

A BIG "THANK YOU" TO ALL OUR LOYAL GUESTS OVER THE LAST YEAR!  YOU ARE WHAT HAS MADE OUR VENTURE A SUCCESS.  FOR ALL OF YOU WHO KEPT SAYING, "WE NEED TO MAKE PLANS TO VISIT," BUT DIDN'T GET THE CHANCE, I'M SORRY TO SAY THAT WE ARE NOW CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC, AS OF JULY 1.  MASON AND I WANT TO RETIRE AND PURSUE OTHER INTERESTS, LIKE WE HAD PLANNED ALMOST 5 YEARS AGO BEFORE WE STARTED THE RENOVATION ON OUR HISTORIC BUILDING AND THE PLANNING OF THE BOARDING HOUSE TREASURES AND TEA ROOM.  WE'RE NOT SPRING CHICKENS, YOU KNOW, AND WE WANT TO ENJOY EVERY MINUTE WE HAVE OF EACH OTHER'S COMPANY, AS RELATIVE NEWLYWEDS.  I WANT TO WRITE AND MASON WANTS TO METAL DETECT.  WE HAVE ENJOYED EVERY MINUTE OF IT AND HAVE MADE SOME WONDERFUL FRIENDS, WHOM WE WILL NOT SOON FORGET.

WE WILL STILL BE OPEN, HOWEVER, FOR​ YOUR SPECIAL EVENTS; A MINIMUM OF 10 PEOPLE REQUIRED.  FLEXIBLE TIMES AND DAYS, AS WELL AS A MENU TO SUIT YOUR SPECIAL NEEDS.  WE HAVE HOSTED A BRIDAL TEA, BIRTHDAY TEAS,   BABY SHOWER TEA,S  GIRLS' NIGHT OUT DINNERS,  CHURCH GROUPS, SEVERAL RED HAT LADIES' GROUPS, AND MORE.  CALL TO SET UP APPOINTMENT TO VIEW OUR TEA ROOM AND TO SET UP JUST THE RIGHT MENU IN CHOICE AND PRICING FOR YOUR SPECIAL GUESTS.   WINE AND BEER ALSO AVAILABLE.

Mason's Treasures will  NOW be open  ONLY BY APPOINTMENT, which he can usually accommodate quickly (910-850-1705).  He also  will be open during all of our special reserved events with 20% discounts to our guests

    Low Afternoon Tea consists of three courses served formally with 3 teas recommended by Chef Carla.  The courses include: the scone service with mock Devonshire cream and assorted jams and jellies; the savory service, including Holiday quiche puffs, open-faced cucumber sandwiches, and open-faced pineapple/cream cheese sandwiches; and the dessert course, with orange rum cake, Chef's choice of 2 other desserts (often a mini blueberry cheesecake and a coffee/chocolate truffle).   Payment due in advance 2 weeks before the event.  It's an unforgettable experience.

    We have had the pleasure of hosting some nice groups, including church groups, Red Hat Ladies, birthday parties, Christmas parties, retirement parties, baby showers, a bridal tea, and 2 birthday teas.   Limited choice of wines and beers also available.

    Remember to keep us in mind for all your special events (we can seat up to 18 in our intimate Tea Room.) 

    We can also CATER small parties, preferably no larger than 30, but a larger group might be negotiated.  NO MORE THAN 20 MINUTES TRAVEL TIME.  DATES AND TIMES ARE FLEXIBLE, AS WELL AS A MENU TO SUIT YOUR SPECIAL NEEDS.     Call Carla at 910-527-7455.

    Boarding House Tea Room Concept :

    WE ARE NOW OPEN ONLY BY RESERVATION FOR SPECIAL EVENTS WITH A MINIMUM OF 10 PER EVENT.
    Carla has sampled numerous cuisines during her world travels and wants to offer her favorites in our charming tea room, which seats a maximum of 16 (18 if you're close friends).  The Boarding House Tea Room is eclectic in its theme, as is the decor.   We have a cozy atmosphere with a touch of Victorian elegance. 
     
    We can tailor your event to your taste, from chicken and pastry to lamb biryani.  Specialties include Holiday Quiche, spinach salad, orange rum cake, iced lemon-thye cookies, among others.  Exploring other parts of the world  through their cuisines is both a culinary delight, as well as learning experience.
